From September 12th (Mon) to September 14th (Wed), radiation tests were conducted at the Wakasa Bay Energy Research Center in Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture.

  • September 12th (Mon) is the exam preparation day.

The staff of the center taught me about the test equipment and precautions when using it.

There are various rules to handle radiation safely without exposing yourself to radiation during the test, and I tried my best to incorporate them so that I could naturally behave according to those rules.

  • September 13th (Tue) and 14th (Wed) are the exam days.

We went back and forth between two rooms: the radiation control room above ground and the radiation irradiation room below.

The two rooms are far apart, and it took about 5-10 minutes each way.

Every time I changed the energy of the radiation to be irradiated or the device to be irradiated, it was necessary to go from the control room to the irradiation room, so it was hard to go back and forth between the control room and the irradiation room many times during the test.

I was nervous at first, but gradually I got used to it and was able to work more efficiently.

In the irradiation room, it is necessary to wear a white coat, so the team member is wearing a white coat.

Well, after a day of exams, it’s time for dinner!

All the members ate ramen at a shop near the hotel.

=finally=

We are very grateful to the people at the center for adjusting the settings of the irradiation equipment during the test period.

Thank you for all the help you have given us.
