Okuyama Laboratory

About the laboratory

In our laboratory, we are conducting research activities in fields such as small spacecraft system technology, special material technology, and robot technology to realize earth observation, space exploration, and space utilization. We are also making efforts to provide these research results in the industry.

Research

Among the specific topics on which we conduct research, are:

•Aerospace engineering

•Material engineering

•Avionics and embedded systems

•Communication systems

•Nano and micro satellite systems

•Reliability of satellite systems

•Space environment effects on new space systems

•Satellite instruments

Our philosophy

“In the field of space development, failures are bound to occur. However, I believe that the field of space development requires a honest attitude to look at failures, no matter how painful, learn from them, and make the best use of them in the next stage.
We, space engineers, must not give in to political dynamics, but must be sincere in the face of space.

Be honest in the face of space.”
