On August 20th and 21st, Okuyama Lab participated in the Ham Fair 2022 at Tokyo Big Sight Convention Center. Ham Fair is the biggest event organized by the Japan Amateur Radio League and its goal is to introduce amateur radio to the general public and deepen information exchange and friendship among radio amateurs. This time, Okuyama Laboratory presented Ten-Koh 2 at the Ham Fair.
Due to COVID pandemic, the event couldn’t be held for two years, but it returns after 3 years since 2019.
The visitors are less comparing with 2019, but the numbers still show good attraction of visitors and those are 25,000 on Saturday, 20th and 10,000 on Sunday, 21st.
Although I only participated for one day, I was able to exchange information with other radio amateurs and deepen my friendship with them, as well as introduce them to Ten-Koh 2. I hope that Ten-Koh 2 will be known by many people through this event. I didn’t know anything about ham radio yet, and when I was talking to hams, there were a lot of technical terms going around that I didn’t understand. However, one of my colleagues looked pretty cool when I saw him talk like it was normal amidst all the radio jargon. I’m graduating now, but I hope my current classmates will become like him.
