On April 26th and 27th, Okuyama Laboratory visited the JAXA Space Center in Tsukuba, Japan. The purpose of the expedition was to conduct the acoustic test and visit the Space Dome.
The new students, as well our Seniors, were very interested in this opportunity to come a facility that they are not usually allowed to access. They were also able to observe up close how the acoustic test of Tenkoh 2, which is under development, is performed, and were able to experience the high level of JAXA technology and its staff. Through this visit, the number of students who are interested in and admire JAXA is increasing, and promising young people may emerge from this laboratory. We look forward to our future.
The tour of the Space Dome was a good opportunity for new students to get to know each other better. I also did not have many friends after joining the lab this year, but after the Space Dome visit, I felt that I was able to deepen my friendships with my seniors and classmates. At the Space Dome, rockets and the space station “Kibo” were on display, and the students were absorbed in taking pictures. Students were also buying souvenirs, and the Space Capsules were very popular souvenirs. One mischievous person even bought 3,000 yen worth of space food and left it somewhere on his way home‼︎‼︎ (haha)
So, the Okuyama Laboratory will continue to be a friendly place for everyone to work together!
