The Material Mission Group of the Okuyama Laboratory visited the Nagano Prefectural Industrial Technology Center in Nagano Prefecture at the beginning of November.
The main purpose of the test was to measure the strength properties of 3D printed material samples. The materials under evaluation consisted of PEEK and CFRP. We are investigating the use of these 3D printed materials in future satellite development parts.
We applied ultrasonic waves to measure the strength of the sample, but the measurement was a little difficult because the waves reflected back are not stable in a laminated structure.
The person in charge of the facility we used was also very kind and even gave us a tour of the facility.
I will use this data to write my senior thesis!
It would have been tasteless to just take measurements and go home, so I also went sightseeing in Nagano. I went to Zenkoji Temple in Nagano to pray for my success in graduate school and Tenkoh 2. We also ate some delicious Nagano food. We also ate other delicious foods in Nagano. We could not eat soba (buckwheat noodles) because one of our members is allergic to soba, but we had Chinese soba (miso flavor). It was very cold that day, so it tasted very good.
My recommended souvenir is blueberry juice from a supermarket called Tsuruya.
You can buy grape juice online, but not blueberry juice for some reason, so please sample it when you visit there. There are many other delicious foods in Nagano, such as fruits and sake, so I would like to go there for sightseeing next time…there are also hot springs.
All project members will continue to prepare for the launch of Ten-Koh 2. We look forward to your continued support.
